Who are you?... How to stump facial recognition software
When time-saving technology is beaten by biology... have identical twins in the family!
Computers and techie programmes are an essential tool for photo organisers, they help us scan, sort and safeguard your memories.
They most importantly allow us to leave a trail of breadcrumbs hidden in the image of such information as
Where it is?
Who is there?
What the event was?
These hidden gems are the magic that we can add to your treasured memories so you can always find all the photos of your home town or your best friend.
One of the fancy tools that have been developed of the years is facial recognition. It is a fantastic time-saver for identifying who is in your photos.
But my family like to be difficult!
Technology has been beaten by my identical twin nephews. It essentially thought that they were all the same baby... Poor technology.
So the manual option was the way to go. Today it would be much easier, they are now 11 and much easier to identify. However, babies are a whole different ball game. Over the years I have lost my Auntie mojo of working out who was who.
This was seriously tested recently when I found a USB stick of a load of photos of them as babies. Thankfully I have a very organised sister-in-law who had identified who was who in some of the photos but for some of them, cue a long Saturday afternoon trying to work out who was who. I think I have most of them right... Maybe!
So what is the moral of my Saturday afternoon of staring at pictures of my nephews...
Save your memories now, the memory is a funny thing... And in my case, there is only so much that will fit in!
